C.S. Lewis Letters to Children
Clive Staples Lewis (best known as C.S. Lewis) is an author beloved by adults and children alike. He is well known for his fantastical tales of Narnia, as well as his writings of theological wisdom, but he may be lesser known for his letters. Lewis responded personally to the letters of his younger readers, answering their questions, commenting on their drawings, and giving advice. This book gives us a look at some of these endearing letters. The book features old-style typography and ornamental elements that touch on the era of Lewis’ influence. However, the application of typography, color, and iconography used for way-finding give a more dynamic spin to the design. Original illustrations add texture and a sense of the magical nostalgia associated with Lewis’ stories. Overall the design retains an elegant yet modern feeling intended to do justice to the iconic and inspirational figure that C.S. Lewis is.
